Returns
MOIC and IRR from the money that actually moved
Investments, follow-ons, capital calls, and distributions are recorded as cash flows with dates. Raziel calculates multiples and IRR from that history, at the position, vehicle, and portfolio level.
- MOIC and IRR for every position
- TVPI, DPI, and net IRR for funds and SPVs
- Realized and unrealized value kept separate

Frequently asked questions
Common questions about Valuations & Returns in Raziel.
How does Raziel calculate IRR?
IRR is calculated from the dated cash flows you record for a position or vehicle (investments, capital calls, and distributions) plus its current value. Follow-on investments are included, so the result reflects your real timing.
What is the difference between MOIC and TVPI?
Both compare value to money invested. MOIC is usually quoted for a single deal. TVPI is the fund version: total value, distributed plus remaining, divided by paid-in capital. Raziel shows MOIC for positions and TVPI and DPI for funds and SPVs.
What happens when a company raises a new round?
Record the round with its price per share and share counts. Raziel calculates the implied post-money valuation and re-marks your position at the new price, showing the value before and after.
Can I check the math?
Yes. Every mark and cash flow behind a number is listed on the position, with dates, so the calculation can be traced. You can also compare results with Raziel’s free IRR and MOIC calculators.
