Key differences

What actually sets them apart

  1. Built for firms versus built for investors

Addepar is enterprise software for advisors and family office teams who report to clients. Raziel is self-serve: an individual investor, angel or small family office signs up, starts a 14-day trial and tracks their own private portfolio.

  2. Asset coverage

Addepar aggregates custodian and administrator data across asset types. Raziel covers startups, SPVs, funds and entities today; public equities, real estate and crypto are coming soon.

  3. Startup positions

Raziel tracks SAFEs, notes and priced rounds at the company level and re-marks positions when you record a new round. Addepar’s alternatives tooling focuses on fund data from capital calls, statements and distribution notices.

  4. Pricing and setup

Addepar does not publish pricing and includes a dedicated onboarding team. Raziel lists its prices: the Investor plan is $49/month through 30 companies after a 14-day trial, and the Founder plan is free through 100 contacts.

To be fair

Where Addepar is strong

No tool is right for everyone. These are the areas where Addepar does more than Raziel today.

  • Data aggregation from custodians, fund administrators and data warehouses across asset types, with a verification process.
  • Institutional reporting: a drag-and-drop report builder, multi-currency reporting, custom branding, billing and compliance tools.
  • A client portal and client app for firms that report to many families.
  • Dedicated onboarding, a client success manager and round-the-clock support.
  • A public SOC 3 report from an independent auditor covering its core platforms.

Switching

Moving from Addepar to Raziel

Most of the setup is importing what you already have. The Investor plan starts with a 14-day free trial.

  1. Start a 14-day Investor trial on Raziel.
  2. Export the private holdings you track today to a spreadsheet and import it into Raziel.
  3. Forward fund statements, capital call notices and SAFEs so Raziel’s AI can record the details.
  4. Set up entities for each LLC or trust and invite your advisor or accountant as a viewer.
