Key differences

What actually sets them apart

  1. A different primary job

Allocations is how a GP or syndicate lead forms, closes and administers a vehicle. Raziel is how an investor tracks every position they hold. An LP can invest through Allocations and keep the full portfolio in Raziel.

  2. One platform’s vehicles versus your whole private portfolio

Allocations’ investor dashboard is built around vehicles run on Allocations, with an option to add an outside investment. Raziel is built to hold SPVs and funds from any administrator, direct SAFEs and priced rounds, and the entities that hold them.

  3. Returns from your own cash flows

Allocations shows an asset multiple and estimated value per position. Raziel calculates MOIC, IRR, TVPI and DPI from the cash flows you record and re-marks every position when a new round is recorded.

  4. Founder tools

Allocations’ deal pages and cap tables serve GPs running vehicles. Raziel’s founder tools are for startup founders: a fundraising pipeline, investor updates and a cap table for the company you run.

Switching

Moving from Allocations to Raziel

Most of the setup is importing what you already have. The Investor plan starts with a 14-day free trial.

  1. Keep using Allocations to sign, wire and download K-1s for deals you join there.
  2. Start a 14-day Investor trial on Raziel and add each Allocations position in a few fields.
  3. Forward statements, capital call notices and SAFEs from your other managers so Raziel’s AI records the details.
  4. Record new rounds as they happen so Raziel re-marks positions and updates MOIC and IRR.

Raziel vs Allocations: questions

Is Raziel an Allocations alternative?

Not for GPs. Allocations forms and administers SPVs and funds. Raziel is a portfolio tracker for investors and founders. For an LP, Raziel complements Allocations by tracking those positions next to everything else you hold.

I invested through Allocations. Why use Raziel too?

Allocations’ dashboard is built around its own vehicles. If you also hold SPVs on other platforms, fund commitments or direct SAFEs, Raziel keeps them in one portfolio and calculates returns from your cash flows.

Do LPs pay to use Allocations?

Allocations does not list an investor fee. Its published prices are charged to GPs: $9,950 for a Standard SPV, $19,500 for a Premium SPV and $19,500/year for a fund.

Does Raziel prepare K-1s like Allocations?

No. Allocations files K-1s for its vehicles. Raziel tracks positions, cash flows and returns, and does not prepare tax documents.
